Long Man Brewery – Harvesting Video

Sussex Air Imaging was commissioned to capture a significant moment in the brewing calendar for Long Man Brewery — the first barley harvest of the year at one of Sussex’s most recognisable independent breweries.

Filmed from above, this aerial footage showcases the fields surrounding Alfriston, where barley is grown on the brewery’s own land before beginning its journey from field to pint.

The barley harvested here plays a vital role in the brewing process at Long Man Brewery, based in nearby Litlington, close to the iconic Seven Sisters.

What makes this brewery stand out is its connection to the land. The barley used in its beers is grown on-site at Church Farm using regenerative farming methods, helping to support soil health and biodiversity while producing high-quality ingredients.

This approach allows the brewery to maintain full control over one of the most important elements in brewing — ensuring consistency, sustainability and a true sense of place in every pint.
